Scones I believe I modified this recipe from The Fanny Farmer Cookbook. http://rebeccmeister.livejournal.com/778901.html 2 C flour 3 tsp baking powder 2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 4 Tbsp butter 1/2 C cream or milk (you can guess which version tastes better) 2 eggs Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter with a pasty blender or by using your fingers to rub it into the flour mixture. Add the cream or milk and the eggs - but save a bit of the egg white to brush over the top of the scones. Mix until the dough comes together; you may have to add a touch more liquid, but don't overmix or your scones will be tough! Knead on the counter once or twice, and then shape into a circle. Add a bit of water to your egg whites, and brush this over the top of the dough. Sprinkle another 2 tsp of sugar over the top of the scones, and then cut the dough into 8 triangles. Bake for about 15 minutes.
