Pakoras http://rebeccmeister.livejournal.com/149599.html 2 ½ cups gram flour—this is flour made out of garbanzo beans, which should be easy to find at non-Western grocery stores. ½ bunch of spinach 1 Tbsp. chopped cilantro 1 medium potato, diced into small pieces 1 medium onion, chopped a few pieces of cauliflower (I usually add about ½ cup) ¼ tsp split coriander seeds (I think I usually substitute ground coriander) 1 tsp salt ¼ tsp chili powder 2-3 cloves crushed garlic -the original recipe calls for some Eno fruit salt, which is apparently citric acid, but I leave it out vegetable oil for deep-frying Mix the flour, spinach, cilantro, potato, onion, cauliflower, coriander, salt, chili powder, and garlic. Add water little by little until the mixture forms a thick paste. Shape into balls and slowly deep-fry them. Slowly. Eat with your favorite chutney!
