Homemade flour tortillas... 4 c. Flour (all-purpose, corn, or WHOLE WHEAT) 1/2 c. vegetable shortening or vegetable oil 1 Tbsp salt 1/4-1/2 tsp baking powder 1c. lukewarm water (add additional water if necessary) 1.) Combine Dry Mix 2.) Add veg.oil/shortening 3.) Mix well while adding water slowly with spoon and/or hands into a ball (end result/dough should NOT be sticky or dry, just fairly moist and flexible) 4.) Cover dough for 20 minutes to let rest/rise 5.) Cut into 12-16 pieces, roll into small balls (haha shut up) 6.) Flatten each ball with palm of hand, then roll very thin or desired thinness 7.) Place on Medium Heat ungreased Iron Skillet or available cooking-ware 8.) Cook on each side between 15-25 seconds depending on heat source. Place each cooked tortillas between a towel while cooking the others. Storage: Inside Your Stomach, preferably.
